Janet Muller
Janet Muller is a lifelong resident of the Town of Mt. Hope and currently resides in the Village of Otisville within the town. Her career path included real estate sales, serving as a vice president with Better Homes and Gardens, a regional instructor, and teaching license law and appraisal courses at OCCC.
After 35 years, Janet’s interests shifted to politics. She worked in Albany for eight years, holding various titles with the Democratic Senate and the New York State Comptroller. In her nonprofit work, she served as a board member, officer, and later president of RECAP. Over 12 years, Janet’s accomplishments included helping to initiate Head Start and other outreach programs.
Currently, along with her partner John Wilbur, Janet is the owner of the Sanctuary for Art, Music, and Spirituality located in the Village of Otisville. Their goal is to bring culture and greater awareness of the arts to the underserved region of Western Orange County. The organization has grown significantly over the past five years, and much of its success is attributed to support from Orange County NY Arts Council Sustainable Arts Program.
