Nicole Hixon
Nicole Hixon is a sculptural and installation artist working in large-scale, site-responsive, and living sculpture. Drawing from her mixed heritage and ancestral narratives, her practice explores cycles of growth, loss, and renewal through public installation, ecological sculpture, and community-engaged work. She is a 2025 NYFA/NYSCA Artist Fellow for her Divine Feminine series, presented through Upstate Art Weekend and supported by Sustainable Arts Program grants from the Orange County Arts Council (2024–2026), including exhibitions at Bull Farm 1856, where her work was acquired for the Eisold & Turner Collection. She has produced commissioned installations for public festivals in collaboration with Wickham Works, supported in part by the Statewide Community Regrants program. Hixon is a 2024 Ann Street Gallery Emerging Artist Fellow and 2025 Artist in Residence for the Village of Warwick. In 2026, she will pilot a public art program on the Safe Harbors Green for its 10-year anniversary.
